Switching Targets

Tensions are rising between the U.S. and North Korea. The Syria war has left more than 70,000 people dead . Human beings are beginning to act like savage animals: the lowest of any species. We are becoming brutally wicked, heartless and unable to make rational decisions that would move our world forward. As the wars prevail, and these tensions mount between many countries, one would wonder who benefits from all the chaos and our strife. Think about it. Who or what is benefiting from the tears that are being shed and the hearts that have been broken? Ever since the fall of man (See Genesis 3:1-24), we have never been able to live peacefully with one another. Can all of this be attributed to the serpent? If it can, what does he gain from our strife? And why can't he just let us live peacefully with one another? Why did he also come into the Garden to cause division between us and God? "To receive worship" you say. Yes, but more. He wanted to be God (Isaiah 14:14), but...

Like Kindergarten Teachers

Verses John 21:15-17 So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs. 16 He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep. 17 He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep. Message One of the things I love most about my kindergarten teachers (like all my other teachers) is that, they taught me all they needed to teach me—the abcd's and how to spell—and held nothing back. They loved me even when I didn't know much about loving people, and disciplined me when I caused trouble in class: they...

The Simple Gospel

Verses 1 Timothy 1:5-7 Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned: 6 From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling; 7 Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm. Message The gospel is so simple that the devil wants to and has complicated it. From the introduction of strange names of demons into the church; to the farrago of doctrines that make us feel devilish every time we fail to live by them; to teachings that are so confusing that, even the preachers, as Paul said, don't understand what they themselves preach. Paul also stated in Colossians 2:18-23 that, many things that were and are being introduced into the body of Christ, do nothing to stop us from indulging in the flesh. So what is the gospel all about? The gospel is a revelation of the person who would enable us to do the things that only God can do: Jesus Christ. In Ga...

Social Networks

Verses Matthew 5:14-16 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Message What's the point of having over a 100 friends or followers, if we can not make a difference in their lives? What's the point in calling them friends, if we do not treat them as friends, but rather, like familiar faces on a "friends list"? We all love it when our friend or follower counters goes up. "Oh I have got a new follower...Someone just followed me, they love me or are interested in engaging with my content," we say. We all yearn to be loved, and these counters help in feeding our "love hunger". However, the question is, how hungry are our followers? How hungry are they to...

[12] Whose house (Part one)

Verses Matthew 12:43-45 43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. 44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. 45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation. Message Going back to your old ways after you have been delivered, doesn't bring back the same devil only but seven; not two or four or maybe five, but seven wicked devils. The question is, what makes the house (your body) empty. The answer lies in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in you...

[22] Going Solo

Verses Luke 11:3-4 3 Give us day by day our daily bread. 4 And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. Message The verses above don't say deliver ME from evil, or lead ME not into temptation, or forgive MY sins only, or give ME day by day my daily bread—I believe you get the point. The Lords prayer or prayer in general isn't selfish. It isn't all about you, or it isn't ME based. When we pray we are supposed to factor in the needs and requests of fellow believers and non-believers alike; in the words of Paul under the inspiration of the Holy Ghost, "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men [not yourself only or for some people you love] (1 Timothy 2:1)". Amen

[23] The Godhead and the Church

Verses 1 John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one John 17:21-22 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: Message The Godhead can be likened to water. God the Father, Son (the Word) and Holy Ghost are one; just as water in the liquid, solid and gaseous form are all the same substance —H2O. They all play different roles but all in all, it is the same God. This is why we are told in Philippians 2:6 that, Jesus was a form of God, just like steam is a form of water. In the same way, God wants us to be one body (the body of Christ:the church) in one Spirit. He has given each and every one of us, different roles with different gifts through the gift of His Holy Spirit—all are given for the edificatio...

[27] The Grace

Verse 14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen. (2 Corinthians 13:14) Message Have you ever said this after praying before? The grace as we usually call it, is said after prayers in group settings. The question however is, what does “the grace” mean, and what does it do for us? His grace helps us in our weaknesses. His grace keeps us strong even when we are weak—His grace is our strength when we are weak. When we are totally weak (that is, when we know that we will beyond doubt fall back into sin) His grace will be there to keep us strong (kind of like a spiritual energy booster).  His grace helps us to overcome our weaknesses. (2 Corinthians 12:9). It’s all about our weaknesses. His love helps us to love our neighbours as God loves us. His love is what pushes us to fulfil His commission—without His Love, we will all live selfish lives not caring about people in bondage to sin and Satan. Perfect...
