Switching Targets

Tensions are rising between the U.S. and North Korea. The Syria war has left more than 70,000 people dead . Human beings are beginning to act like savage animals: the lowest of any species. We are becoming brutally wicked, heartless and unable to make rational decisions that would move our world forward. As the wars prevail, and these tensions mount between many countries, one would wonder who benefits from all the chaos and our strife. Think about it. Who or what is benefiting from the tears that are being shed and the hearts that have been broken? Ever since the fall of man (See Genesis 3:1-24), we have never been able to live peacefully with one another. Can all of this be attributed to the serpent? If it can, what does he gain from our strife? And why can't he just let us live peacefully with one another? Why did he also come into the Garden to cause division between us and God? "To receive worship" you say. Yes, but more. He wanted to be God (Isaiah 14:14), but...

Personality Studies

Personality may be viewed as consisting of stable characteristics that explain why a person behaves in a certain way.   Many people would love to to know why Hitler did the things he did. Many of us would love to understand why some people in society, just don't seem to get the basic principles of sanitation. Some would also love to understand why countless innocent kids, who never ever bothered anyone in their schools committed suicide. We would also love to know why the world is in a state of turmoil, and why there is so much injustice in it among other things. Social scientists will tell us that there are many factors that make up an individual's personality; factors ranging from a person's ethnic origin, culture, early family experiences and so forth. However, when filtered, we would realize that there are only two major factors that make up individuals: love and hate. No matter what part of the world a person lives in, he or she can and will only be shaped by the...

Pins and Magnets

Verses Romans 7:18-20 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. 19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. 20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. Romans 7:24-25 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. Message If we would all be honest with ourselves, we would have to admit that, there are many things we do that we wish we never did or ever started doing. No theory can explain this, and even the knowledge gathered from the fact that, 'hate-filled experiences from a person's past, have the power to send them on a quest to find love in the wrong places', isn't enough to keep us from indulging in acts...

Petrol on fire (One piece of advise)

When many guys are heartbroken or when they are burdened with thoughts about a girl they feel they are in love with, they tend to solicit advise from other friends: friends who have either been through their circumstances, or who seem wise enough to give good counsel. An example of this can be found in 2 Samuel 13. The case of Amnon and Jonadab, or rather Amnon and Tamar. In this story we are told that, "Amnon the son of David loved her [Tamar]. And Amnon was so vexed, that he fell sick for his sister Tamar; for she was a virgin; and Amnon thought it hard for him to do anything to her. " Amnon like many of us can discern right from wrong, and all he, like many of us guys needed was one piece of advise to break down all his defenses. He was probably at the lowest ebb in his life, (See 2 Samuel 13:2) the perfect moment to be deceived by the evil one. As Amnon poured his heart out to Jonadab, Jonadab said, " Lay thee down on thy bed, and make thyself sick: a...

[3] The way

Verse John 14:6 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Message The big question everyone or some people are asking is, "Why is He (Jesus) the only way?" or "Why isn't so-and-so the way?" They want to know why there aren't many ways to God and what makes Jesus so special; and there is one simple answer: SIN. If whoever we think is the way to the Father or some paradise or heaven, can take away our sins; If who or whatever it is can make us new people, and can give us the power to stop doing the things we do not want to do, then we can all take who or whatever it is to be the way.  As long as you are still struggling or battling with past sins and sin itself or himself, then you either haven't found the way or you have been deceived into going back to your old ways. He is the way, the only way to God. He is righteous and He gives us His righteousness when we accept His offer of sal...

[9] Mr. Human Nature

Verse Romans 7:20 20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. Message Me (Talking to sin):  Okay, they win, hail all the people who finally called you human nature. The made songs about you, they wrote books about you and did everything they could (because of you), to tell us we had to live with you. Now people have you in their flesh; they are struggling—and this makes them hate life—but have been blinded to think it's all human nature. Now let me ask you a question. Sin:  Go ahead, I am listening. Me:  What happens to you, Mr. Human nature, when a person becomes born again? Sin:  ???? Me:  They receive God's nature—you can keep your term; and the only way they can have you ruling over them again, is when they begin to accept the lies about "human nature";  or when they start thinking the temptations that come, are just a part of their feelings and not you trying to destroy them again: when the...

[10] The heart of man

Verses Genesis 6:5 5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. Jeremiah 17:9 9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? Mark 7:21-23 21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, 22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: 23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man. Message What goes on through your mind when you: watch TV (the news and others), read the papers, surf some sites or listen to some radio stations? Do you panic because you think the world is totally messed up? Has the world made you paranoid: do you think everybody is wicked, evil and out to get you?  Have you lost trust in humanbeings?  When many people see all the things happening in the world today (the wars, the immora...
